The world is becoming increasingly digitalized nowadays. From the beginning of mankind, mathematics has been used so importantly and it will be continued to be used in various fields of human lives. Students who enjoy logical thinking and have a passion to become a good educator can develop their potential power and achieve their dreams by entering our department.
In our department, students explore deep mathematical knowledge that fosters mathematical thinking and creativity and acquire various competencies related to mathematics education. We provide a variety of opportunities to foster a sense of community and leadership, and based on this, we train secondary mathematics teachers with great character and professionals needed in mathematics-related fields.
The goal of the Department of Mathematics Education is to foster secondary mathematics teachers with great character who can lead the 4th industrial revolution and the era of artificial intelligence, as well as specialized personnel needed in mathematics-related fields.
The department runs a curriculum that fosters mathematical knowledge in-depth and the competencies required in mathematics education. Students will become capable of deep mathematics related to algebra, analysis, geometry, and applied mathematics as a high-level knowledge on secondary school mathematics. Furthermore students can be equipped with mathematics education theory, mathematics educational logic and essays, mathematics curriculum and evaluation, mathematics engineering tools, and competencies related to teaching practice.
Graduates will be certified as Level 2 Secondary Mathematics Teachers. They can become middle school or high school mathematics teachers after passing the secondary school teacher appointment examination. Alternatively, by pursuing graduate studies, they can become researchers and experts in the field of mathematics and mathematics education. Graduates may also enter companies or public institutions directly or indirectly related to mathematics and mathematics education. They are well-equipped for diverse career paths, including roles in general corporations, education officials, and private educational institutions.
