Introduction

Department of English Education at Catholic Kwandong University has been producing competitive English education professionals since the graduation of its first cohort in 2012. These professionals not only became English teachers in middle and high schools but also actively contributed to various fields.

Our educational program focuses on cultivating practical application skills demanded in educational settings, building on a foundation of theoretical knowledge. Efforts are dedicated to developing the qualities and traits needed as teachers and fostering professionalism. Additionally, in order to train English education talents suitable for the rapidly changing trends of the times and the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the department strives to develop students' diverse capabilities through a systematic curriculum that incorporates not only theory and practice but also creative activities.

Training Competent English Teachers
We prioritize the development of expertise in English education through the study of English curriculum and materials as well as theories of English education. Additionally, we emphasize the acquisition of knowledge in English linguistics, including English phonetics and phonology and syntax. This comprehensive approach aims to honor and enhance the professionalism of future English teachers.

Developing Globally Competent English Specialists
Through subjects such as English conversation, composition, and British and American culture, we aim to foster a high level of English proficiency and global competence. Our program is designed to prepare English specialists who can enter various fields, equipped with both linguistic expertise and a broad understanding of global contexts.
