Introduction

In the spring of 1971, the Department of Korean Education at Catholic Kwandong University welcomed its first batch of freshmen. Over the past half-century, it has firmly established itself as the cradle of Korean language education in Yeongdong area, where students aspiring to become Korean language teachers can realize their dreams. Striving to be the 'true mentors' who teach our language to the middle and high school students who will lead the future of South Korea, the footsteps of the students in the Department of Korean Education at Catholic Kwandong University continue to move forward today.

Educational Objectives

A Korean language teacher is an educational professional who nurtures students' reasoning and expressive abilities through our native language.

At the Department of Korean Education of Catholic Kwandong University, we aim to cultivate competent Korean language teachers who take pride in our language. Grounded in the educational philosophy of Catholic principles, our educational goal is to foster exemplary and genuine mentors who, under the spirit of Catholicism, can connect with students, be true mentors with effective communication, and dedicate themselves as devoted and practical educators in the field of Korean language education.

    - Fields : Middle schools, universities, research institutes, textbook development, language policy-related Areas, etc.
