Department of Forest Healing

Introduction

The Department of Forest Healing is located in Naegok-dong, Gangneung-si, Gangwon State. It is the only major department in the Forest Healing field in Korea. We are carrying out the University Lifelong Education System Support Project (LiFE 2.0) of the Ministry of Education and the National Institute for Lifelong Education.

The undergraduate program (4-year bachelor's degree) is comprised of adult learners aged 25 or older. Graduate school (master's) courses are offered, and talents in the forest healing field (forest healing instructor), tree therapy field (tree doctor), and forestry technology are trained.

The Department of Forest Healing organizes and operates curriculum in the areas of forest healing and education, forest protection and tree therapy, and forestry technology. We are simultaneously operating a designated training institute for level 1 and 2 forest healing instructors, which are national qualifications in the field of forest healing. We also operate a qualification acquisition support program tailored to adults so that they can acquire major-related qualifications (forest engineer, tree doctor, etc.) while attending school.
